Wellness Wednesday: EVOLUTION (+ FREE Hand-Lettered Downloads)

Hello, MB readers! It’s your accountability partner calling! I’m back and I seriously missed you guys. No joke I did. I’ve been thinking about how everyone’s January went and how the New Year is beginning for you. If you’re anything like me—or a lot of us out there—you like to set some resolutions or goals for yourself at the beginning of the year.

This year versus previous years I decided to change my strategy a little bit and not only make my resolutions more specific (e.g., “I will cook 3-4 times per week” vs “I will cook more”) but to set them just for the month at hand so that I had some very real objectives to achieve and a timeline around achieving them. It’s part of my personal evolution that I hope you’ll be a part of, and in turn share yours with me!

Wellness Wednesday: ADVENTURESOME | Model Behaviors

Wellness Wednesday: ADVENTURESOME

Welcome to our first Wellness Wednesday post of the month and of the New  Year! Our featured Behaviorist for January is Rachel, who’s chosen “adventuresome” as her theme word. We’re so thrilled to have Rachel on Team MB. From her first interview with us back in September to her latest melt-in-your-mouth fudge recipe, Rachel has shown that she’s game to try anything, especially in pursuit of self-growth and personal development. And as you’ll quickly learn after spending any time with her or reading any of her posts, she’s passionate about supporting women and creating a community that lifts each other up and pushes each other to be our best selves.

Today Rachel shares why she’s chosen “adventuresome” and what this theme word brings to her life.

Wellness Wednesday: CHERISH (Includes 2 Thanksgiving Printables!)

The season of giving thanks is upon us, and this year I plan to triple my efforts in that department. I try to keep the “count your blessings” mentality somewhere toward the front of my mind all year long, but even with that daily awareness it can be so easy to forget how good we have it. Have you ever traveled to a less fortunate country, visited a children’s hospital, or volunteered at a soup kitchen and returned home promising yourself/God/the universe that you would never take anything for granted again and that you would be happy and content with your current situation? How long did you keep your word? How long until your blessings turned back into givens and your good fortune was no longer enough? I’m sure we all have a few similar ebb-and-flow stories.

Wellness Wednesday: EXPLORE | Model Behaviors

Wellness Wednesday: EXPLORE

This month marks Courtney’s one-year anniversary since joining the team of MB Behaviorists! In that time she’s become a weekly contributor with her Song of the Week posts, she’s interviewed several powerhouse women, and she’s written some great Miles posts about Scotland and Tyler, Texas. She’s even written movie reviews and fashion pieces, so I think it’s only appropriate that the word she’s chosen for us this month is “explore” because she’s always game to delve into a new subject and tackle any crazy project I throw at her!

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Courtney shares with us a heartfelt journey she’s recently taken, starting in February of this year.

Wellness Wednesday: CONNECTION | Model Behaviors

Wellness Wednesday: CONNECTION

Yesterday was the first day of September, a month that will transition us from summer to fall. This also means it’s time for a new Word of the Month. Our featured Behaviorist is Bulaong, and she’s chosen “connection”! It’s hard to believe that this month is Bu’s one-year anniversary writing for Model Behaviors. Her first post for us was a review of the documentary “Brave Miss World” last September. I love the passion and honesty that Bulaong continues to bring to each of her posts, and I can’t wait to see with this dynamic social justice warrior accomplishes in the next year.

Here are her thoughts on “connection” and what that word means in her life.
