The Mommy Makeover Contest

In January of 2016, Model Behaviors announced the Mommy Makeover Contest. Toni, along with four professional advisers, spent three months working one-on-one with five mothers—Danielle Koprowski, Nikki Evans, Renee Manocchio, Vanessa Sporacio, and Vange Villalpando—to help them adopt a healthy, mindful lifestyle and transform their lives from the inside out.

The advisers were Candace Oliver, Marzia Prince, Priya Bhola Rathod, and Laurie Graham. Candace was our nutrition and AdvoCare expert. She coached our five mothers through an AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge and then devised a plan for each participant, using AdvoCare products for the rest of their makeover journey. Marzia was our health and fitness expert. She taught our mothers about healthy meal planning and sent them each personalized workout routines every two weeks. Priya was our accountability coach. She kept the girls motivated and taught them techniques for staying on track with their goals. She and Toni hosted live coaching sessions and helped each mom set monthly goals.  Laurie was our style and fashion expert. She taught the mothers how to dress specifically for their body. And Toni, a certified life coach, rounded out the coaching team, helping the participants set realistic goals and also learn tactics and strategies for achieving these goals and adopting a healthier lifestyle.

To provide another element of support throughout the three months, we had a Facebook group for our participants, our advisers, and anyone who wanted to transform their lives along with our participants. We called it the Comeback Circle. There were about forty members who would send daily updates on their healthy meals, their daily workout, or anything that was either challenging them or inspiring them. The members of the Comeback Circle became very close and truly grew into a community over the course of the three months.

On top of checking in on the Comeback Circle, our five mothers would send check-ins once a month, to update us on their progress. Here are each of their check-ins, where they began and where they ended (click on each photo to see the post).

At the end of the three months, they sent in their final results, and the advisers chose the top three participants. Then readers voted on their top choice. Here are our advisers’ final thoughts on the contest and the poll results.

Our winner was Renee Manocchio, and the grand prize was a trip to Dallas where she’d have a total hair and style makeover, plus participate in a photo shoot. She flew to Dallas in mid-May 2016 and got her hair done at Hair by Charlie in Dallas. Rachael Gatenby did the color and Pam Vasko did the cut. That evening, we celebrated Renee at Mi Cocina.  The following day, she participated in our Model Behaviors photo shoot with Toni and the Behaviorists. She had her hair and makeup done by Joanna Hathcock, clothing by Free People of Dallas, photography by Simon Lopez, and videography by Drew Nicolello of Kharis Media.

Renee wrote this about her photo shoot experience:

Whether it was sharing life experiences, getting dolled up, getting pampered by Joanna, admiring the beautiful clothes from Free People, or just hearing what each person had to say, it didn’t feel like a photo shoot to me. It felt more like a retreat or a weekend with great friends, almost like when you reunite with old college buddies or your best friends from home. It was so wonderful, and I walked away feeling encouraged and inspired by what each person added. I loved every moment of it!

Toni and the advisers were so humbled by and in awe of the mothers who participated in this contest. The participants’ lives weren’t the only ones that were transformed. The positive effect of this contest radiated out to our advisers, our Behaviorists, members of the Comeback Circle, and even beyond to friends and family. We’ll organize more retreats like this in the future, and we can’t wait to help even more women find their inner source of power, confidence, and self-love.
