VIDEO: What Laurie Loves Most about MB

One of the greatest personality traits Laurie Graham King possesses is her “yes” mentality. Sometimes it seems like all I have to say is, “Laurie, would you want to—” and she says yes before I even get the whole sentence out!

It’s amazing to have a friend like this and it’s amazing to be a teammate with someone like this. Because not only will she say yes, but once she says yes, she pours all of her resources into a project to ensure its success. She often calls herself the biggest cheerleader for her clients, but I think it goes further than her professional life. She brings this quality to each of her relationships and makes people feel like they can do anything, be anything, try anything.

With Model Behaviors, Laurie has been a stylist for our photo shoots and she’s emceed a few of our events. She’s a natural at both, and her warm, vibrant energy is always a great boost in any room, with any crowd.

We love having Laurie on Team MB, and we can’t wait to see what else this phenomenal woman will accomplish!

VIDEO: Holly, on Shaping the Life of a Daughter

When I think of Holly, I can’t help thinking of this famous Shakespeare quote from A Midsummer Night’s Dream: “Though she be but little, she is fierce!”

This captures the force and spirit of our go-to DIY mama to a tee. She always has a dozen different tutorials she’s working on. She always has something fun planned for the family. She always has a big self-growth project (for instance, going vegetarian or training to run a half-marathon). And on top of it all, she started her own business and holds down a full-time job. Not to mention her latest venture, TED Fox Event Artistry!

Beneath her go-go-go mentality, she’s got a backbone of steel. She is tiny, but her low, deep voice is steady—through high times and low—and she comes to the aid of her friends the second we call. She’s weathered some difficult journeys, in particular, her struggle with fertility. She’s one of the fiercest mama bears I know, so it makes total sense that when we asked her what she loves about being part of Model Behaviors, her thoughts turned to her daughter.

VIDEO: Courtney Shares How MB Helps Her Shine | Model Behaviors

VIDEO: Courtney Shares How MB Helps Her Shine

Coming up in October, Courtney will have been with Model Behaviors for two years. I’ve seen so much change…in her, in myself, and in Model Behaviors. When you work so closely with someone on a project as big as Model Behaviors, you form routines, you learn each other’s habits, and you evolve with each other.

Upon first meeting her, some of her strengths came right to the surface. She’s responsible, organized, strategic, and always on the quest to learn more. But over the past two years, I’ve seen other strengths, subtler strengths show themselves, too. She has a calm, warm demeanor which makes others feel comfortable and welcomed. Her love for family and friends is steadfast and true. I’ve seen her go through some pretty big life changes and come out stronger and more confident than ever before.

She says in her video that MB has given her a ton of self-confidence, and I feel so incredibly lucky to be part of that journey for her. I can’t wait to see what great things Courtney has in her future!

Recently she introduced our Word of the Month, shine. Definitely take a moment to check out that post here and then watch her video above, where she shares how MB has helped her truly shine!

Thank you to Drew Nicolello of Kharis Media for the videography, Laurie Graham King for Courtney’s wardrobe and styling, and Joanna Hathcock for hair and makeup.

Revamp Reveal: Finding the Heart of MB | Model Behaviors

Revamp Reveal: Finding the Heart of MB

Every few months, Toni and I get together to talk about the future of Model Behaviors—where we can improve, where we’ve seen growth, and any big ideas we might have for the site. In the fall of last year, Toni mentioned this idea of the Mommy Makeover Contest. I could tell she’d been thinking on it for a while because she already had a pretty solid direction of what she hoped the contest could be. What I remember most from this meeting was that she wanted it to be more than just a contest. We’d use the term “makeover” because people would recognize it, but we were going to help women learn skills that would last a lifetime, that would carry them beyond the contest, and that would transform their lives.
