MB Collective: Father's Day | Model Behaviors

MB Collective: Father’s Day

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know my friend’s father through her wonderful and often hilarious stories about him. He was the man she turned to her entire life, and he was the man she turned to when she found out that she was bringing a new life into this world, alone. In the beginning, she struggled with his role of being her father and also a father figure to her son. She wondered if it would be confusing, or if her son would know the difference, and at times, this filled her with guilt. But she journeyed on with the help of her father and plethora of longtime friends. Everyone pitched in to fill in the gaps. And as Father’s Day quickly approaches, I’m reminded that this day isn’t just about celebrating the biological definition of a father, but to also honor those men and women who are filling in the gaps with unwavering dedication and unconditional love.

For our MB Collective this month, I asked our Behaviorists to share a positive quality they’ve learned from their fathers or father figures and how their fathers taught them these qualities.

VIDEO: Sneak Peek of MB’s Latest Revamp!

Twice a year, a group of Behaviorists and I get together for a photo shoot so we can update the site and make everything fresh and new again. These get-togethers have come to be one of my favorite parts about starting Model Behaviors. I feel like each one keeps getting better and better. When the Behaviorists come, my heart fills up and the day ends on such a blissfully high note.

One of our theme words earlier this year was evolution, and I like to keep that word very present when it comes to Model Behaviors. We’re always changing, growing, and evolving.

At the moment we have nine Behaviorists, and when our revamp goes live, we’ll be introducing a new section—The Village. I’m so lucky to have this exceptional team by my side.  I can’t wait to share all that we have in store, but before we do, enjoy this sneak peek of Model Behaviors’ latest revamp!

We’d like to thank Joanna Hathcock for hair and makeup, Laurie Graham and Free People of Northpark Center for the styling, Simon Lopez for the photography, and Drew Nicolello of Kharis Media for the videography.

PS: We missed you Alaysia, Barbara, Bulaong, Kathryn, and Rachel! Hope to see you next time!

MB Collective: How to Prepare for a Serious Relationship

With Valentine’s Day so close and one of our Behaviorists so recently engaged (huge congrats, Laurie and Chris!), I thought it would be fun to check in with each of our Behaviorists in a long-term, committed relationship. I wanted to know how different women mentally prepare themselves for that in-it-for-the-long-haul type of love.

Here’s what they each had to say.

When I found out I was pregnant with Darlington, one of my first thoughts was, “I need to talk to Priya.” From the moment I met Priya, she’s been a warm, welcoming presence that instantly makes me and everyone else feel at ease, especially when it comes to asking for advice.

MB Interview with Our Newest Behaviorist Priya Bhola Rathod

If you’ve been keeping tabs on all the MB goings-on, you’ll notice that I’ve brought quite a few new ladies over to Team MB. In September, we met sports reporter Rachel Santschi. In October, there was personal stylist and professional spokesperson, Laurie Graham. This month I’m so very excited to introduce the latest addition to this dynamic group of amazing Behaviorists—Priya Bhola Rathod.

I first met Priya while we worked for a different publication together. I was immediately drawn to her warmth and genuine interest in other people. On top of her welcoming personality, she doled out the absolute best advice about pretty much anything I asked her. She did so with the kindness that comes from genuinely caring about other people and the confidence that comes from knowing your topic inside and out. I quickly discovered that Priya LOVES to research and I could ALWAYS trust her advice, so it made perfect sense to ask her to join Model Behaviors and bring that expertise to our readers. Lucky for us, she jumped right in!

Courtney sat down with Priya to talk about her experiences as an on-camera entertainment host and as a mom of two gorgeous girls. I’m so thrilled to have Priya, and I can’t wait for all of you to get to know her like I do. Please welcome, Priya!
