VIDEO: Holly, on Shaping the Life of a Daughter

When I think of Holly, I can’t help thinking of this famous Shakespeare quote from A Midsummer Night’s Dream: “Though she be but little, she is fierce!”

This captures the force and spirit of our go-to DIY mama to a tee. She always has a dozen different tutorials she’s working on. She always has something fun planned for the family. She always has a big self-growth project (for instance, going vegetarian or training to run a half-marathon). And on top of it all, she started her own business and holds down a full-time job. Not to mention her latest venture, TED Fox Event Artistry!

Beneath her go-go-go mentality, she’s got a backbone of steel. She is tiny, but her low, deep voice is steady—through high times and low—and she comes to the aid of her friends the second we call. She’s weathered some difficult journeys, in particular, her struggle with fertility. She’s one of the fiercest mama bears I know, so it makes total sense that when we asked her what she loves about being part of Model Behaviors, her thoughts turned to her daughter.

VIDEO: Introducing the Latest Behaviorist Marzia Prince

You know that awesome feeling when you’re around someone and you’re talking about your dreams, and you just know how much they believe in you? That’s Marzia Prince.

And luckily, she’s our newest Behaviorist!

We first introduced her as one of our Mommy Makeover Contest advisers. Her personality and infectious motivation quickly proved that she was the kind of coach who wouldn’t let our participants rest on their laurels. She wanted to get the ball rolling the moment our participants were announced. She kept in touch with each woman and sent them workout routines every two weeks throughout the contest. She was always in our Facebook group, keeping us focused and dedicated to our goals.

Marzia was there every day, every moment, pushing us all to be our best selves.

In March, she was our Woman of the Month, and she gave us so much insight on her life as a coach and her journey toward a healthy, productive lifestyle. I was particularly touched by her story of coming to terms with the fact that she would never be a mom in the traditional sense of the word. Instead, she gets to be a nurturer in her role as a health and fitness coach.

Earlier this month she wrote her first post as a Behaviorist, How to Be a Healthinista on Vacation. Click over to give that one a read and watch her video above, where she shares why she’s so excited to join Team MB!

Do you remember back in January when we announced our very first Woman of the Month, Anne-Marie Myhre? I was so excited that I got to introduce our MB community to such a warm, brilliant woman.

But the excitement I felt then doesn’t compare to how thrilled I am to announce Anne-Marie as our latest Behaviorist. I can’t contain it!

Earlier this month we got to see her brilliance in action as she shared her first post with us, 5 Tips to Ignite Summer Reading Fun.

We got so many great comments and shares—readers sharing how they’d rearranged their kids’ at-home library or sharing some of their favorite stories—that I knew immediately Anne-Marie was going to fit right in. In today’s video, Anne-Marie describes the scary but exciting journey ahead of her as she tries to discover her life’s passion and turn it into something that can help others.

After you watch it, make sure you check out each of her posts and give Anne-Marie a HUGE Model Behaviors welcome!

VIDEO: Barbara Guillaume’s Advice Is to Always Share the Love

Have you ever met someone who just exudes such an inner strength and fearless approach to life? Lucky for me, I have and she’s one of my closest friends. Barbara Guillaume possesses these qualities and inspires those around her to follow her example.

I’m honored to have known Barbara for thirteen years. She’s the kind of person who doesn’t take things at face value. She’s determined to know how and why things work, and most importantly, she’s on a mission to get better with age—pushing herself to the limit and never ever giving up on her dreams. She knows her value, traveling an arduous and unapologetic path to get to where she’s at in life. I love the freedom she possesses to say what she believes while believing wholeheartedly in what she says. She marches to her own beat, a beautiful rhythm with such depth and humility, and rooted in love.

VIDEO: Kathryn Finds Strength in Community

Over the years, I’ve met some truly incredible and inspiring women. Quite a few of them have flown in and then out of my life. We were there for each other when we needed it the most, but life happens, so naturally we both went our own ways. I appreciate those friendships, and just because they were short-lived doesn’t mean they weren’t immensely valuable.

On the other hand, there are a few people who’ve stuck with me for many, many years. Kathryn is one of those women, and when she says, “Life is messy,” she isn’t joking!  From backpacking around Asia, to hiking ruins in Mexico, to crashing parties and jumping in pools fully clothed, to being mommies and changing dirty diapers, we’ve experienced many fun chapters in life. And I’m so grateful for this amazing friendship that has witnessed the best of times and has also weathered some storms. Life is about evolving as individuals, while evolving simultaneously within our relationships. We often worry about taking everything on as individuals, but we are so much stronger when we have a community of like-minded people.
