Rachel Santschi’s Advice for Women Pursuing the Career of Their Dreams

It’s time for a little Behaviorist brag because seriously, when I look at this amazing lineup of women I get to work with on a daily basis, I have to pinch myself!

Rachel Santschi, our sports expert and all around go-get-’em enthusiast, has worked really hard to get where she is today—a reporter for the San Antonio Spurs and a sideline reporter for Fox Sports Southwest. It’s taken years of effort and determination to get there, but Rachel didn’t give up. She knows what she wants, and with a spirit of ineffable adventure, she pursues her dreams.

Wellness Wednesday: ADVENTURESOME

For our last Wellness Wednesday of the month, Rachel is sharing a deeply personal story about a childhood trauma that’s affected her life. When I first read her story, I couldn’t believe what had happened to her because looking at her now, she comes across as an accomplished, confident, and stunningly beautiful woman. I would’ve never guessed that there was long history of pain and struggle behind her.

But that’s what I love most about our Behaviorists and about all women. We can come from completely different backgrounds, experience completely different struggles, and have completely different views of the world, but in the end, none of those differences matter. By embracing these stories—our own and those of our fellow women—we gain the strength, wisdom, and compassion necessary for inspiring change.

Read on to find out more about Rachel’s personal journey and why she’s now able to fully embrace her adventuresome spirit.

Wellness Wednesday: ADVENTURESOME

Welcome to our first Wellness Wednesday post of the month and of the New  Year! Our featured Behaviorist for January is Rachel, who’s chosen “adventuresome” as her theme word. We’re so thrilled to have Rachel on Team MB. From her first interview with us back in September to her latest melt-in-your-mouth fudge recipe, Rachel has shown that she’s game to try anything, especially in pursuit of self-growth and personal development. And as you’ll quickly learn after spending any time with her or reading any of her posts, she’s passionate about supporting women and creating a community that lifts each other up and pushes each other to be our best selves.

Today Rachel shares why she’s chosen “adventuresome” and what this theme word brings to her life.

Rachel Santschi’s Melt-in-Your-Mouth Fudge

To me, life and its experiences have always been intrinsically tied to the food we create and consume together. Food has a way of wrapping around our hearts, stirring up magic, and unlocking memories. And have you noticed how everyone’s favorite recipe has a story? I always feel like it’s such a privilege to hear these stories from a dear friend or beloved family member while they’re cooking or serving the dish. So as a special holiday treat, I asked a few of the Behaviorists to share their own holiday stories along with a favorite recipe.

This week Rachel’s sharing her family recipe for melt-in-your-mouth fudge, and she swears it disappears within minutes! I can’t wait to try this one. Read on for her recipe and some sweet memories from growing up with this fudge.

Rachel Santschi’s List of Draft Hopefuls to Watch This Thanksgiving

To me, Thanksgiving is a time to be with your family, rejoice in your blessings, eat a lot of turkey, and of course, watch some football.

This Thanksgiving Day, to kick things off in the NFL, the Eagles will travel to Detroit to take on the Lions at 11:30 a.m. That afternoon, wake up from you food coma and catch the Dallas Cowboys host the Carolina Panthers at 3:30 p.m. After that, grab some more pumpkin pie and watch the Chicago Bears take on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field at 7:30 p.m.

When the weekend rolls around and you’re still munching on those Thanksgiving leftovers, there’s a few college games on the docket that you should definitely watch. Plus, there’s five college players you should keep an eye on because you may see them in the NFL soon enough.
