Welcome to FRISCOVANIA! | Model Behaviors

Welcome to Friscovania!

It’s official!  We’ve got some exciting news to share. Model Behaviors and FC Dallas present one of the most epic events of the year on behalf of City House of Collin County—Friscovania!  This Halloween extravaganza will be filled with tons of fun for everyone, in memory of our dear friend Kelly Whaley.

As you many of you know, Kelly was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer in April, and in less than two months after her diagnosis, she passed away, leaving behind her four-year-old son, Gunner. She was a single mother and a well-known hair and makeup artist in the fashion community here in Dallas, but what some of you may not know is that she was also deeply rooted in the rock music scene and had a passion for Halloween and special effects makeup.

In May, so many of us got together for Kelly’s memorial to celebrate her life. And, the one desire that resounded in all of us was to honor our friend and help take care of her only son, her pride and joy. It wasn’t long before we all gathered at my house to brainstorm and pledge our commitment, forming the Frights of the Round Table—Kodi and George Nelson, Anna and Dan Broadfoot, Ann and Simon Lopez, Holly and Matt Denny, Carlotta Lennox, Kiersten Dolbec, Cheryll Smith, Misha Sturns, Lana Adams, Rhonda Sargent Chambers, L.B. Rosser, Priya Bhola Rathod, Dan, and myself. It’s been a labor of love, inspired by Kelly and Gunner’s love for each other, Halloween, fashion, and music.

Friscovania will take place on Saturday, October 22nd, at Toyota Stadium in Frisco. It’s a $10 admission ticket that will double as a raffle ticket.

To give you an idea of the layout, you’ll enter Friscovania through the West Gate at Toyota Stadium, and waltz on through the Winstar River Club, which we’ll refer to as the Witches Brew. Here you can boo-gie to the sounds of one of Nashville’s finest young musical talents. But if you need a little VIP TLC, head on over to the El Jimador Terrace, which we’ll call Vlad’s VIP Lounge. Gloss Luxury Rentals will provide decadent furniture to recline on while you sink your fangs into some mouthwatering morsels by Legends Catering. Not ready to put an end to this hauntingly good time? Step onto the black carpet where it’s time for Frights! Camera! Action! Our Step & Repeat will be run by renowned fashion photographers because this will be a fright to remember! Or just trick-or-treat your way through the haunted carnival, where you’re sure to get your scream on until dusk, when things really get spooky. You can slip down to the Budweiser Beer Garden’s main stage, which we’ll call The Boneyard, for some undead entertainment filled with models, monsters, and music.

All the proceeds will go to City House of Collin County. City House provides emergency shelter and transitional residential services to at-risk children and young adults who are in need due to abuse, neglect, or homelessness. You can find out more about their incredible work here. The event will be for kids from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a haunted carnival, games, and trick-or-treating. The City of Frisco has designated this event The Mayor’s Safe Trick-Or-Treat Zone. Mayor Maher Maso and his wife Cindy Maso will be our honorary Count and Countess, hosting the event. Then, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., there will be live music, which includes a haunted fashion show during the headlining performance.

Don’t forget to wear your spookiest costume and you might just win a wicked prize. So, save the date…if you dare!

Sponsors, entertainment, runway designers, host committee members, and raffle prizes will all be announced in the weeks to come. So, stay tuned and in the meanwhile, visit us online!
