Juice: Grapple Berry Mint

It isn’t a secret that grapefruit is chock-full of vitamin C, which can come in handy during cold and flu season, but this fleshy fruit also contains citric acid, natural sugars, and many essential oils. Not to mention it possesses nutrients like liminoids, flavonoids, lycopene, and glucarates that help fight cancer and a plethora of other diseases. So, juicing this super food is a smart thing to do, but remember that it’s important to leave as much of the albedo (the white part that clings to the fruit found under the peel) as possible because this is where the highest amount of bioflavonoids and other anti-cancer properties are located. Today’s juice recipe on The Monday Menu isn’t just refreshingly delicious; it’s a healthy antioxidant too.
