Buy a Raffle Ticket, Win a Cabo San Lucas Getaway and Support Suicide Prevention

As one of this year’s Fashion Stars for a Cause, I have committed to raising awareness and funds for the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas (SCC). As you may already know, suicide is a growing epidemic. In America alone, suicide claims the lives of 30,000 people each year, and according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are more people dying from suicide each year than from car accidents.  What’s even more troubling is that more than 800,000 people attempt suicide each year, and the actual number is likely much higher because attempts are underreported.

As founder of the lifestyle blog, Model Behaviors, I really take the behaviors aspect seriously because I believe that we are all multidimensional multitaskers, and part of being multidimensional is to help take care of others.  I don’t see why we can’t look good, feel good, have fun, and be deeply committed to our communities, all at the same time.  That means we must delve into hard issues that need our attention, which is why I’m involved with the SCC on their mission to save lives and help survivors.

I know suicide carries a lot of stigma, but I strongly urge you to  read the candid and exclusive interviews from individuals directly affected by suicide. The truth is this issue impacts us all, and the SCC serves a needed role.  They manage a 24-hour crisis hotline, and provide counseling, support, and hope to survivors of suicide. The SCC is a nonprofit organization that relies on donations from people like you.

So, here’s how you can help.  Fashion Stars for a Cause is hosting a raffle contest. You can buy raffle tickets for $50 each or 3 for $100. The odds of winning are great and include a getaway for two to Cabo San Lucas. The drawing will be held on May 24, 2014 (you do not have to be present to win).

Join me and participate by filling out the form and emailing it back to me. I will physically mail your purchased raffle tickets to you and forward on the information to Yvonne Crum, the Gala Committee Chair of Fashions Stars for a Cause, in time for the drawing. If you have any questions, please call or email me. Thank you for supporting the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas.

Thank you,

Toni
