We’re so thrilled to announce the beginning of a new Model Behaviors endeavor—a quarterly book club! Every three months, we’ll announce a new book, and then a month and a half later (after we’ve all had time to read it), we’ll host a discussion right here on the blog. On top of that, we’ll be giving away a copy of each new book that we announce. Excited yet? Because we are!
This month, we’re kicking things off with “Dead Don’t Lie” by L. R. Nicolello.
Nicolello was inspired to become an author in fourth grade when her teacher handed out a creative writing assignment. The rest of the class groaned, but this girl silently clapped with glee. She still has her copy of the book, and ever since then she’s been hooked on writing. We’re so happy to have this Dallas local as our first featured author! Here’s a brief description of her thriller, “Dead Don’t Lie.”
Detective Evelyn Davis delves deep into the minds of monsters for a living. She’s the best psychological profiler in the Seattle Police Department, with a talent that comes from heartbreaking experience. When Evelyn was just eighteen, she received word of her family’s murder in the form of a horrifying video. Fifteen years later, tracking down other psychopaths is the only thing that brings her peace.
That is until, two local families are wiped out. Though their chilling crime scenes suggest murder-suicides, Evelyn has a hunch that a serial killer is at work. And so does Special Agent Marcus Moretti, whose easy charm and fiercely protective instincts are breaking down all her defenses. Evelyn needs to put aside her emotional attachment to find the madman stalking her city and killing innocent families, but with each discovery, this case becomes more personal. It is almost as if the killer is sending her a message and edging closer with every step…
