For all of us who’re parents or soon-to-be parents, time can slip by so easily. And before we know it, we’re calling up for take-out and falling into a ho-hum routine of our usual go-to spots. Wouldn’t it be great if we could access a deep stash of yummy, homemade meals that are ready to be prepared in an instant?
Well, the freezer is just the place to do this! And conveniently, it’s situated right next to our refrigerator. That means, on the days that we have a bit more time on our hands, we can go bulk grocery shopping and double up on a recipe or two. It’s easy. Simply portion off what will be consumed immediately and store the extra servings in the freezer for a rainy day—or postnatal day. What a perfect way of enjoying the fruits of our labor (um…no pun intended) twice!
This is just what I’ve been doing over the last several weeks to prepare for the arrival of lil’ Miss Hunt. To do this efficiently, I used Pyrex Storage products. The glass containers really lock in flavor, the plastic lids are BPA-free, and overall, the products are safe to use in the microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and freezer. They pack perfectly in tight spaces, and all the fun colors can help keep everything organized. In addition to the colored lids, I used labels to keep my pregnancy brain in check.
Here are some of my past and recent favorites that are currently awaiting their revival from the freezer:
- Mom’s Green Chile Chicken Enchiladas
- Gluten-Free Boeuf Bourguignon Stuffed Peppers
- Tom Kha Kai
- Stuffed Turkey Burgers
- Banana Bread
- Gluten-Free Chicken Pot Pie
- Tomato, Basil, & Truffle Soup

Enjoy!
