From what I gather about pregnancy, each one is different. Some women have morning sickness, while others don’t. Some women develop skin blemishes, while others glow. Some women grow cankles, while others say they’ve never felt sexier. Then there are women like me who wouldn’t necessarily say they feel sexy, just grateful for the blessing. Despite our differences, I think we can all agree that the maternity clothes available leave something to be desired, especially when it comes to cocktail attire.

So when I can’t get away with wearing workout clothes to more formal functions, I call in the professionals like my dear friend Khanh of Nha Khanh. She knows how to design for every style and body, while helping women to feel classy and sexy at the same time.

I was fortunate enough to have her design my gorgeous wedding dress and all of my bridesmaids’ dresses. Now, during this brand-new chapter in life, I count on Khanh to dress my bump and make me feel fabulous.

The process was easy. I visited her studio, and we discussed where I was going and what I was looking for. Shortly after, she emailed me these sketches.

I of course said yes, and she began making the patterns.

Next, we had muslin fittings and final adjustments.

Now this is how maternity wear should look! I felt amazing, and it was wonderful to show off my bump in style at the NFL Honors during Super Bowl weekend.

Just before Valentine’s Day, Look 3 was worn to the Fashion Stars for a Cause Honorary Chairs Announcement Party at the Diamond Doctor.

I know a high-waisted pantsuit might not be your first choice for maternity wear, but Look 4 shows that it can be done, and done right. This was worn at the 2015 101 Awards at the Westin Crown Center in Kansas City.

And well, Look 1 is just one of those stunning pieces that can be worn for any occasion, whether one’s pregnant or not.
